Five fall activities that won't break the budget

There are plenty of fun things to do during the fall months – many of which are easy on your budget. If you’re looking for things to do that require little to no spending, then you’re in the right place.

1.    Host a potluck
Potluck dinners are a fantastic way to host a dinner without having to pay for every course. The best part about a potluck dinner is finding out who the secret chefs in the group are while getting to show off your culinary skills at the same time.

2.    Scenic walks
It may seem simple, but fall is one of the best times to go for a long walk. The colours of the changing leaves are beautiful and the temperatures are usually pretty good. Unlike spring and summer, where it’s either too cold or too hot, fall is the sweet spot.

3.    Go to a farmer’s market
There won’t be too many left to attend this year. Winter is coming! Get down to a local farmer’s market for a morning or afternoon of fun. Take in the local produce, check out the handmade goods from the vendors, and in some cases, there may be live music!

4.    Cozy movie night
Perfect for a family, a couple, or an individual, cozy movie nights in the fall are like a nice, relaxing warm hug. Try something new, or watch an old favourite, and pair it with something good to eat!

5.    Fall crafts
Especially handy if you have children, fall crafts make for a fun day or two, or three, of working on projects for everything from Thanksgiving to Halloween. There are a ton of ideas available online, so all you need are materials!
