Make the Most of Summer in Manitoba
Summer is finally here and it's time to take advantage of the beautiful weather. While many are quick to suggest a trip somewhere tropical or down south, our own province has plenty of beautiful sights, great food, and sandy beaches to explore.
- Spend a day in Gimli - Gimli is a great place to spend a day exploring the shops, downing some ice cream, and lounging on their gorgeous beach. You might also check out their marina to see some larger ships/boats up close!
- Golf and a Drive - Sometimes the summer makes you want to hop in a car and hit the highway. If you’re a golfer, navigate all the way to Riding Mountain National Park and hit the Clear Lake Golf Course for 18 holes.
- That's a Paddlin' - Are you into canoes or kayaks? Do you like the serene beauty of calm water and a motorless vessel? According to Travel Manitoba, some of the best places for a nice, casual paddle include La Barriere Park and the man-made tunnels of Caddy Lake.
- For the Foodies - If you can, head into Winnipeg for a gastronomical experience that will leave you full and speechless. The city offers a tremendous variety of restaurants offering cuisine from around the world. Winnipeg’s historic Exchange District is also full of amazing places to visit.
- See the Stars - In our picturesque prairie province, all you need to do is get away from the city to see the beautiful night sky. Pack a blanket, a couple pillows, and maybe a mosquito net, then head out about half an hour from the city to watch the stars and planets do their thing.
